Yes, it's true! In Tempe, AZ if you are 18 or older you can rent a Flexcar! What's a Flexcar? Flexcar has partnered with Arizona State University to rent cars by the hour, or by the day, in order to facilitate getting back and forth to classes at the university. After paying a $35 annual fee, you could rent the car for $8 per hour or $55 per day. This includes ASU parking!! And yes any ASU student or any 18 to 21 year old Tempe resident can rent the car. But alas, you will need parental consent, proof of insurance, and two years of a clean driving record!! Cars can also be rented by us older folk, with no parental consent required, and ASU expects the staff, and faculty to take advantage of the program too! Major name brand car rental companies such as Hertz, Avis, and Enterprise, etc. will not rent to customers under age 21, and customers 21 through 24 usually must pay a surcharge. This is big news!
