Instant Karma - Feed the Hungy for Free - Fight Breast Cancer - Animal Rescue & More!

TheHungerSite.com - For every click, corporate sponsors donate 1.1 cups of food for the those in need.

I found this site about a week ago and posted it to my favorites. I try to visit every day and click the button and I try to encourage others to do the same.

The Hunger Site began in 1999, and has generated funding for more than 500,000,000 cups of food for hungry people world-wide.

Of course there are other opportunities to donate and through product purchases, but it seems the majority of their food donations are supplied through clicks.

There are also tabs at the top of the page for breast cancer, child heath, literacy, rainforest and animal rescue. Click on each one every day and help support these causes.

I ask myself daily what I did to make the world a better place and there have been days when I really couldn't answer. Perhaps this is a way that I can answer that question positively every day.

I encourage everyone to save it to their favorites and share with your friends. Why not start each day with a little click of instant karma?

These are getting too skinny..Thanks for playing!

OK, Buddy-J, You seem to be a cross between Yoda and Mike Myer's new character the "Love Guru." Spouting "wisdom" quietly but cryptically! LOL..Time to move on! Thanks for the dialogue. Give Chloe a Home in OKC - FREE Cell Phones with Great Plans

We've Got Time & Bandwidth; Valuable for Ourselves

I might be playing Devil's advocate there ('GIVE IN to your selfish desires ... YOU CAN BE LIKE GOD!' LOL), but--as I say/will-say somewhere--"self-centered" (while it's a bad way to be focused) is where all desires start. That is a very wussy way of putting it. I would state it more-boldly, but then a lot of my future responses would begin 'Well, the way I ~meant~ that was ...' or some other regretful back-pedal. So we know "everyone" starts with a self-centered desire, and often have to combat that self-centeredness to gain universal-prosperity (see Dennis Kucinich's video on the greed of oil-companies). We see that so often, the 'selfishness-alerting' becomes a habit (leading many to equate 'them gaining' with 'them stealing gain from all others who might also gain'). Maybe the site is not entirely-correct in that 90% of the 1.1-cents goes to transporting 0.11-cents of rice. But if you think your time is better off being converted into the 1.1-cents of labor than it is the 2-or-3 cents of writing, publishing and connecting made possible by Xomba, that's your right! So, Riddle me this, Mythman...

So, riddle me this, mythman...When was the last time YOU went out and purchased, then, (after travelling halfway around the globe), hoisted a couple of 40kg bag of rice on your back and carried them to a group of starving Ethiopian or Bangladeshi families? That is truly the only "Straight to the Plate" action. While not everyone can, it's a good thing there are so many ways to support those programs and the people that actually are delivering food and supplies. You are absolutely right. "Straight to the plate" IS the best way to provide support..but most people either cannot or will not go to those lengths (at least not on a daily basis). Some take an active role in raising awareness in their communities..some just send checks and write it off on their taxes. People contribute in various ways and some, I'm sad to say, do nothing at all and would rather spend money on one more double frappachino than give up a buck or two to help others. If these online programs, raise awareness, encourage others to support the causes, and channel some measure of support, then more power to them. Hopefully they even encourage people to do more than click. Perhaps even through promoting discussion and debate for and against the merits of their programs, they have prompted people to donate directly to the World Food Programme or their charity of choice. 20 Grains "on the Roulette Wheel" or "Straight to the Plate"?

If someone gives you the first option and convinces you it's the second, maybe they deserve the profits from whatever they get for your viewing-time. When *I* give to the second option, I usually put the gift where it's going; but whatever ... Karma, 20 grains at a time..

Buddy-J, See my recent post on Free Rice. You and your buddy taprial are welcome to try to trash that as well as I'm sure you will. Your "advice" is appreciated and appropriately filed. I continue to welcome your views. Perhaps you could also check out my article on Understanding Hypercriticals. Poverty.com - Free Domain Names -FREE Cell Phones with Great Plans

Just Like 'Any Press is Good Press'

Debate on 'the charity issue' keeps 'charity,' 'cruel intentions,' 'good intentions,' 'greed' and all the other involved powers in the mind of the audience (each power either in the 'avoid this'-section or the 'feels good'-section, according to the audience-member's position). 'Giving to charity without knowing where the gift is going' is like 'praying without knowing what to pray for'; it's good that you think of doing it, but it's not necessarily the "right" good! P.S. Rawnak IS the right good, so any wealth that goes to her is going to the right place! P.P.S. I am highly honored to have earned the nickname! Maybe we'd be better off giving candy to a hungry tiger..

As I stated in my last comment. That was the last I was going to acknowledge that thread or his vendetta against charity. Whatever his motivation, it still worked out to the advantage of getting people to think about doing something positive, so in that respect, I encourage him to continue to post articles about charitable causes and non-profits. Any debate is good debate. Are there flaws in the systems, sure. But a flawed system that produces some results is better than none. (yeah yeah..I'm sure he'd respond with something like "a system that produces no results produces no results" or some other wise and astute assertion.) "Xombies" shouldn't just accept either of our views blindly, if it interests you, look into it on your own. Contact those who benefit from the aid. Look into a cause that you are passionate about and do whatever you can to make the world better. Lord knows, we need all the help we can get! As far as big food and pharmas getting tax breaks, that is kind of a no-brainer...any large corp that donates to charity takes advantage of tax breaks. That is why the system is designed that way, to encourage them to contribute. That doesn't mean that the money is not good. I could keep responding to him, but my bandwidth is better used for other things. Buddy Jesus! What are you doing!? You've got me started again..I'm done! I think you are just an instigator! LOL! Keep it up! P.S. Please check out Rawnak's new CafePress site - http://www.cafepress.com/kanwarpriya - where she has featured her great sketch of a tiger on some merchandise. I can't vouch for the amount of money your purchase would be donated to her cause or if she will take advantage of any tax breaks available to her, but I'd guess that with her views on charity she might do the right thing. (taprial may want to get her financials or state the obvious that CafePress will make more money than will be given to help tigers..maybe we'd be better off giving candy to a hungry tiger..) ~Kyo~ Regardless of the ~Renge~ (Tell It Whether'ts Good or Bad)

One of Taprial's top-articles tells you what's bad about it; if you've got the time- and bandwidth-'to spare' (and can do nothing more helpful with it ... like read the works of- and channel more wealth to-some of us Xombies!), then go right ahead! Tails it is! So do you want the ball first, or will you kick?

Free + Charity is good..But some people seem to think charity is bad and free isn't a word.. Spending a few seconds and squeezing out a few pennies from a corporate sponsor is worth it to me. Can't do much with a penny, but with a million pennies you can do a lot...and I've goten pretty good at it..my outlook mail open on the left side..clicking on the right..I can multi task. As far as the bandwidth, well I'm not paying extra to click on their site. I've got thee windows open right now..My isp never charges me extra. Thanks for reading and responding Buddy Jesus..I mean mythman. FREE Webmaster Resources - FREE Cell Phones with Great Plans
