Post Twilight-Review

I did manage to get into the theater last night to see Twilight. Although if it not for my cute little gay boy who works there who let me in before anyone else was allowed, I would have had the worst seats in the house.

"Anything for the 'Manager's Daughter'", he says to me with a big grin on his face.

If not for first dibs on the seating I would have been trampled by a mob of tweens rushing to see the "gorgeous" vampire on screen. Am I the only one who does not find him attractive in the least? Maybe its just because I'm gay, but that hasn't stopped me from commenting on an attractive man before. I don't get it.

Don't get me wrong, I was excited to see the movie too, but for different reasons. I LOVED the book, I am a book fanatic and seeing something so well written on screen is something to look forward to.

Oh did I mention the lezzie that hit on me? It was hilarious. I was wearing my girlfriend's Tegan and Sara sweater (whom I love as well) and she looks at me and comments on it. I told her about the concert I was going to and she asked me if I was going with anyone. My girlfriend didn't care about that, all she care about was that someone else liked T&S haha.

Anyways back to the movie. I have to say that I was a little disappointed with the effects and the way they portrayed the vampire's abilities. By the end of the movie I was spending more time laughing my butt off every time the girls would swoon at a romantic/cheesy thing that was said. It was hilarious. Never mind the corny effects, I have to say they stayed really true to the book for the most part. I wasn't constantly correcting scenes like I usually do. I did like it, and am in the process of reading book #2.

All in all I have to give the movie a 3/5, obviously losing marks for making me bust a gut during serious scenes. :P

@Crimsonmoon-mythman--If by "Offended," You Mean 'Curious'

thinking, "How can a man possibly be both homophobic AND luvvv lesbians? This MythMan is a miraculous oddity; I shall follow him everywhere he goes!" then ... yes. If by 'offended,' you mean 'sickened beyond any possible desire to see what wonderment there is in store for your friendship with a lesbian-loving homophobe,' than ... (though it'll hurt my feelings to know that you don't believe in miracles) yep. ---Uncle MythMan (http://www.geocities.com/jmythh2k5) & the Xombies Bring-about World-Peace by Discussing Your Opinions on the Beauty Above & the Beauty Among!

I agree with you about the

I agree with you about the chick flick, but I'm wondering if I should be offended about your gay comment :P

"Twilight" = 'Chick Flick' ... Check!

The InsideCatholic review (that I referred to when I commented here) said the guy who played Edward was 'cute in a "Teen Beat"-way.' Girls' imaginations are kinda jumpy, and I guess the 'Teen Beat'-cute sets their imaginations running ... I guess, not actually even considering ever wondering ... (Yep, Grade-A homophobe, that's me! But I DO LUVVVV LESBIANS! lol) ---Uncle MythMan (http://www.geocities.com/jmythh2k5) & the Xombies Bring-about World-Peace by Discussing Your Opinions on the Beauty Above & the Beauty Among!
