Although I've rejected what I was brought up to believe, I can grasp your dilemma I think (Apologies if it is incorrect - I'm sure you'll let me know...). Altough it definitely fits in with the Feminist argument (which most reasonable men have identified too) its not only that, its the uneasiness that there is about the evidence (what's left and how its survived through many translations of different translations) and how it is marketed by the boys (those in charge nowadays). They are hardly going to suggest she is doing exactly what she does, think about matters, digest/ponder/pray and try to apply what evidence she may glean from secondary sources. I'm not a believer but try my best to look after people, take my duties seriously, don't rip people off, because I'm convinced I should behave like this. I'm a proper Socialist (if anything) which is very similar to Christianity like it was invented to be, when a church was anywhere two or more people were gathered to pray/think good/disuss how to improve the lot for people. I have relatively little anxiety about these sorts of things (I've alternatives - you can't win!) but anyway, even if God is that bearded white bloke in a toga, if he punishes me when I die - I don't rate him anyway.
