Why Are We to Accept Jesus Before God?

Why Are We to Accept Jesus Before God?

First of all, this is not meant as a “Christian bashing”, this is questioning. A mind that seeks to understand how a faith can be contradictory yet be held as truth. To start off the questions, what part of the truth is to be held as truth when there is contradiction? After all, the Bible is “The Word of God”, yet God’s words contradict… I have heard that we cannot pick and choose to satisfy ourselves, but in the case of contradiction, one must choose, one cannot act on two separate paths at the same time. When the road forks to the right and left, one must choose, there is no middle of the road, the middle leads to a ledge that then drops into a canyon of rock and rubble.

Many of the Christian Faith preach that to get to Heaven, to be judged “good enough” to go to Heaven, we must accept Jesus into our lives, but what if we don’t accept Jesus, but we do accept God? Are we not “good enough”?

Why is the man Jesus to be honored and the Creator God to be feared? Why is the physical form to be accepted as a path to the Spirit form? Questions and more questions pop into my head. Hurdles to be jumped and hoops to go through “Trust in the Lord,” is that the Lord Jesus or the Lord God? They are supposed to be one and the same, however one is taught to separate by name. Why?

In EXODUS 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before me." however, by using the name Jesus and asking of Jesus, are we not putting Jesus before God? I know, Jesus is God in human form, but I am also God in human form, Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Just as Jesus was created in the image of God in human form, so am I. Another thing, if Jesus is God in his human form, why did Jesus speak with God, unless they are separate entities. In which case, Jesus is NOT God in human form or does God have a personality disorder? Using the tales of Jesus being God in human form could mean that God used trickery and manipulation to “spread the word” or did man, by declaring in Bible verses that Jesus is the Son of God? Does it really matter if we believe in Jesus as the Son of God? Is it not the truth that God is All Encompassing, therefore to believe in God is the bonding of human and Spirit. Where does Jesus come in as a must to be accepted by God? And why is God separated into three? Father, Son, Holy Ghost, when there is separation, there is chaos, confusion, and disorder. Is God separated to cause this for some reason? Does this separation take place to cause discourse among man, expressed in argument and war? Why?

Are we not all God’s children? If so, I put my brother above myself and I put my brother before God, because He is the favorite son? Hmmm… sounds like God plays favorites.

These are just a few of the questions I woke with this morning, some days my questioning of the word “God” and the meaning behind it, do cause such chaos within.

Road to God

I would like to thank everyone for their perspectives and comments on this topic. It is nice to be able to discuss such "delicate" topics without arguments and name calling. A step in the right direction I would say... Thank you MJ - Sending happy thoughts and Smiles! Avatar: Betrayal and Retribution http://www.valkyrieart.com/Poser1.html

i always hate how...

I always hate how ministers of many religeons preach hate. To each their own! We'll find out what happens when we pass on to the next world :) And i doubt "God" will be sending many to "hell." Make Money with Blogging! http://www.xomba.com/referral/77778956 www.xomba.com/user/mr_x

Indeed, AAT2, God gave us brains to think

Part of my issue with organized religion is that we are supposed to check our ability of critical thinking at the door when we enter the building. This leaves us with two choices and I rejected choice number one when I hit 30. Being a believer in Free Will, I still let other people believe what they want to believe, even if I don't believe exactly the same. CLICK HERE TO JOIN XOMBA TODAY!

"man-made" Religion and Jobs for the Boys... @MJ and Rawnak

I've really enjoyed reading the debate here and voted for the stimulating article (thanks MJ). Although I've rejected what I was brought up to believe, I can grasp your dilemma I think (Apologies if it is incorrect - I'm sure you'll let me know...). Now excuse me while I discuss you with Ranwak. Rawnak, I admire the your "take" which I understand to see both female and male as different but equal and incomplete without the other - its the same in Astrology (Aries + male ruled by Mars, Taurus - female all the way through +, -, +, -,) Nature, Paganism and was in Christianity too - they all conclude: be nice to each other, respect each other, look after one another. In Christianity (I'm not qualified to comment other monotheists here) like your "man-made" comment, this goes out the window immediately Constantine makes his cynical (but genius it was his plan!) conversion. Christianity, by the fifth century, there was definitely an obliteration of the feminine essence in Godhead. God became all male. At the same time - could be coincidence (NOT!) - there's a huge expansion in the jobs for the boys in the Church from the Roman senatorial class and aristocracies - eg Gregory Bishop of Tours was the nephew ?grand nephew) of the former bishop Martin. There's a new Comedy film - just grabbed a quick extract - haven't seen it advertised anywhere here yet - its a bit Borat. The scene is a comic standing in front of the Vatican - the building dominates the shot - its grand facade, statues, architecture. He stands there like a news corresespondent, turns round to the building, points at it then says to camera "somehow I don't think Jesus had this in mind when he started it" - I found it hilarious but I'm not a believer. This is what I in part causes MJ's anxiety. Altough it definitely fits in with the Feminist argument (which most reasonable men have identified too) its not only that, its the uneasiness that there is about the evidence (what's left and how its survived through many translations of different translations) and how it is marketed by the boys (those in charge nowadays). They are hardly going to suggest she is doing exactly what she does, think about matters, digest/ponder/pray and try to apply what evidence she may glean from secondary sources. I'm not a believer but try my best to look after people, take my duties seriously, don't rip people off, because I'm convinced I should behave like this. I'm a proper Socialist (if anything) which is very similar to Christianity like it was invented to be, when a church was anywhere two or more people were gathered to pray/think good/disuss how to improve the lot for people. I have relatively little anxiety about these sorts of things (I've alternatives - you can't win!) but anyway, even if God is that bearded white bloke in a toga, if he punishes me when I die - I don't rate him anyway. I'm glad you're OK with your anxieties too and that our contributions to this debate are of some assistance. JOIN XOMBA HERE FREE Xomba is an international online community and anyone can join. Interesting insights, rawnak

I have come to understand that even we humans are not gender-specific in our true spirit form and can move back and forth through each separate life depending on what we want to accomplish. In the same way, cell memory from previous lives (especially the last one before this) can give us mixed gender signals and may be one way that homosexuality comes about. (Which is why I am okay with it because I do believe people are literally born as they are, as opposed to the so-called "choice" label attached by the critics of homosexuality.) I was born and raised in the Catholic and Protestant Christian traditions, but I had begun to question those beliefs starting around age 30. I don't believe that the Abrahamic system of linear time is correct because it does not explain the true nature of God and the Universe. I am looking to the Eastern belief of time being on a cycle because it makes more sense and answers more questions. This is also why I don't get freaked out about 2012 being the so-called end of days. If time is on a cycle, there is no linear end and certainly not something that would end on December 21, 2012. A definate must read rawnak

I found a website that has the Geeta translated to English online sometime ago, but haven't actually sat down to really read it. I believe it is now time. Thank you for your reply and I agree that God is God in all religions. As for man creating God in man form because of the inferiority complex... I agree again. Just think about a man with a cold or flu...You would think the world was coming to an end, now think of a woman with a cold or flu...she still takes care of the house, the kids, goes to work and makes dinner. (at least I have)She doesn't lie in bed groaning and moaning, helpless to even get a glass of juice for himself. No offense meant to anyone, this is just been "my" experience. Anyway, thank you rawnak and I know what I will read before bed tonight. MJ - Sending happy thoughts and Smiles! Avatar: Betrayal and Retribution http://www.valkyrieart.com/Poser1.html

Questions and Answers about God

MJ, there is absolutely nothing wrong in questioning the existence or purpose or logic behind God. I know your post is basically questioning the "christian" belief, but I think the basic fundamental applies to all religions. Now, I have a completely different take on religion and God altogether, which the "men" folk may take offence to. But, in seriousness, if you really want to know the meaning of "God" then I suggest you read the "Geeta" which describes in great detail all the questions that you have in your mind. Geeta is a book that contains all the answers that Lord Krishna had given to Arjuna (the Warrior) on the battle field in the mythology "Mahahbharata". I can assure you that you will find all the answers that you seek. The same questions were asked by Arjuna, as his mind was in a conflict and couldn't understand why he should indulge in a war with his own family members! Lord Krishna then explains the whole concept of life, death, universe, and God and the purpose of living etc...in great detail. He has said quite clearly that GOD is not "male" or "female"...God exists in all of us, it is the soul and life of the universe..He explains the journey of the soul. Please read it (the complete version) and you will be enlightened. In fact I find that Hindu religion is quite complete in many respects and has quite a lot of logic and meaning behind every story. Now, my take on religion is that it is all "man made" and therefore cannot be complete knowledge. Man has always been held as a "supreme" being in respect to a woman. And so they wanted to be revered by everyone to have a hold or power over women in general. If you will notice all religious preachings...They all are "male centric" (that's what I feel)Of course, I could be wrong. But, observing the Hindu mythological stories itself..I felt that women were always given a lesser role. That of holding her man as "God" in all respects. Now, if you look within yourself as a woman, you will notice that you are capable of feeling all kinds of emotions and can also bear pain emotional as well as physical torment much more than a man can. Women can create babies. Man cannot. This makes them feel "inferior" to women and so to make sure that women don't use their power over men...They concocted this story about GOD, in a "male" form. They do not like to admit their own weaknesses, and so like to show themselves as "superior" solely on the basis of physical strength. If you again look at all the Hindu mythology stories...All the powerful "male Gods" for eg..Lord Shiva etc were all very rash with their power. It was the women who brought peace or had to coerce with them to bring about peace in the universe...! Its all quite interesting actually. But, let me not get into this argument anymore. I apologize if I have offended anyone. I know that this has nothing to do with Christianity. But GOD is GOD in all religions. Just the name and form changes. Believe it or not.
