Why the Big Bang Theory Proves Nothing

Why the Big Bang Theory Proves Nothing

I love science...and I also love religion. I love a good debate where the non-believers in an omniscient being argue that scientific findings have eliminated the possibility of such. One particular example of this is the Big Bang Theory.

Scientists all over the world studied and studied about how the universe began. Through thousands of hours of analyzing the data, they formed a theory...the Big Bang Theory. In the beginning (does this sound familiar from somewhere?) there was a Big Bang...an explosion that sent forth everything we know and love into being. It took a while, but everything started there, at the Big Bang.

And the Bible tells us that everything started with God and Creation. And he said "Let there be light" and there was. Funny how unbelievably similar the two stories are.

The problem with the Big Bang is what was going on before the Big Bang. Apparently an awful lot. An explosion of that magnitude would of been hard to come out of the nothingness that Genesis describes. I hope it doesn't happen these days. I went down to the grocery store to pick up some eggs and lo and behold, there was a big bang and next thing I knew there was universe.

Now the Bible doesn't explain it all that well either, but the idea is to just believe. Science is supposed to explain in detail. And they did...they gave us the Big Bang. And they are so eager to discredit religious ideals that they actually present this as proof that there is no supreme being.

Now, as I started out... I like science...I believe they are right for one. There was a Big Bang...and God started it. I believe in this hard-to-grasp concept that science and religion could both be right. Our Lord set forth these rules of physics, and quantum physics, and physics we don't even know about yet. And from those rules, we have a world where there was none. And it ain't perfect...far from it...but it's a lot more than nothingness. I'll take it either way you want to explain it... existence seems to be a lot more fun than non-existence. And it would be hard to form theories if we didn't exist as well...
