Xomba-V-Triond = Jesus-V-Buddha
I think Xomba-v-Triond kinda like Jesus-v-Buddha for me; Buddha (whoever the 'original' one was, anyway) makes just as much sense as Jesus, but I met Jesus first! But--as I come to see that Jesus was ALSO a Buddha--so I might come to see that Xomba is ALSO a "Triond."
But--beside the fact that I 'met' Xomba first--Xomba also does email-alerts for 1) comments-on-past-articles, 2) comments-on-past-comments, 3) comments-on-articles-you've-commented AND 4) articles-on-chosen-subjects; and email has always been my 'homepage' (i.e. whence I launch into the Internet).
(I think that's true for everyone, which why 'big affiliates' are always saying "The money's in the list (of email-addresses)"---i.e. people aren't going out into the web in hopes of finding you unless you come to their cyber-doors and give them a lifeline!)

Xomba V Triond
Hi mythman thanx for adding your comment to my article it is good to hear from someone who uses mostly xomba.
Hola
I checked out your article on writinghood and I am the exact opposite of you, kinda. I tried Associated Content for awhile as well as some other site that I can't remember right now but Xomba has always been the place for me. I'm not much into the friends and community things as I am just writing. Nick and Jeremy are great and I believe the new look (just cause I trust them) will really give this site that extra boost they need.
I Love Both! Xomba and Triond...
Hi Geri, it's Allison (West) from Triond! It's fun finding fellow Trionders on Xomba...
I really like both sites a lot. I'm also on Associated Content, and like AC too because it was one of the first places I published my articles, so I'm loyal to them.
I left you a comment over on Triond, but just wanted to say that I'm amazed at the earnings potential on Xomba! I'm close to making my hundred dollar payout on AdSense and haven't been here long. I'm really putting a lot of time and effort into working here, especially posting a lot of Xomblurbs. It may take some time away from my work on Triond, but I'm enjoying the revenues so I'll continue to work hard here.
I think Xomba is fun and kinda fascinating! The people here have been kind to me, but I agree, there is something quite intimate and special about the Triond community. You can form wonderful friendships on Triond.
That's why I'll continue to work on Triond too, even though I make more dollars on Xomba. I say if you don't mind working for a few websites, stay with Triond and Xomba and have the best of both worlds!

Problems with Triond --- Xomba is much better
Triond give some good easily accessed stats but it pays less than a third of what Xomba pays. This is because Triond don't have Google ads.
Twice recently they have reported much higher earnings than usual, only to take off the over payment and publish a statement on their blog about a problem they've had with reporting. Someone reckoned they published the total of what they are earning from the articles.
@geri ohhara--All for Xomba, `coz the Bible Says ...
"No one can serve two masters, as you grow irritated at one while serving the other."
Sure, that's not the exact quote; and sure, one would think it would serve 'me' better to surf- and comment-the entire "blogosphere" (which would be true if the U.S. government actually -cared- about it's people's standard-of-living); but the deeper meanings there reveal a secret of Capitalism - alignment of power.
Think of McDonald's: when people start working at McDonald's, they gain greater power there *the longer they work there*. Time spent working anywhere else *takes away from the length of time at McDonald's*.
As people devote their power to the power of one company, they gain more-and-more control over that power's flow; more-and-more they can use- and refer to-that company's power as their own.
Here on Xomba, you & I & Nick & Jeremy are only 'members' (sure, Nick & Jeremy are Administrators as well, but that's little-more than saying they have to use more of the power that all other members share with them).
